Discover more from Sharon Hurley Hall's Newsletter
I’m republishing some of my social media content - this was posted on LinkedIn earlier this year.
It's 2023 and I have newsletter GOALS! A big one is to reach more people with articles about anti-racism and how we can work together to make change. Free subscriber numbers tripled last year and it would be great to do that or better this year. With more than 100 new subscribers in the past month, I'm well on the way.
I'd also like to provide a platform for even more people through my founder and activist interviews and reading lists. If we talked about interviews late last year, I'll be reaching out in the next week or two to firm up those arrangements. If you are a Black founder or activist reach out to me to see if you'd be a good fit. I publish up to 3 interviews each month, so there's potential to feature another 36 people this year.
And of course, I'd like to be able to focus on the newsletter even more. That means getting more paid subscribers. Last year, numbers doubled. I'd like to quadruple them this year. This is all about folks recognising and supporting the real actual and emotional work that goes into producing it. I'm so grateful for all the current subscribers, especially those who've been there from the beginning!
One of the things that makes my newsletter different is the global perspective I bring from lived experience in multiple countries (both countries I've lived in and countries I've visited regularly). And I believe my experience as a former journalist and teacher has a little something to do with my approach (it's hard for me to put into words, lol, but I know people recognise it).
