Well, that should actually be “England, here I come” as I’m travelling to Manchester for my daughter’s graduation, to Nottingham to catch up with friends and family, and to London for a Mission Equality event. There’ll be a lot going on, and I plan to enjoy all of it.
In terms of the event, I’m looking forward to the rarity of being in the same room as two of my colleagues - Lea and AJ - for a couple of days. And I’m looking forward to our “DEI with a difference” event, where attendees will get access to our next Black Paper and we’ll be working on taking action on the path to equality.
The event is called “Equal Futures”, and we describe it as “The most progressive 'DEI' event you've ever been to...so progressive, it's not really even a DEI event...”. That’s a big claim, I know, but if you’ve read our first Black Paper, you’ll know how differently we think about everything.
We’re determined that this won’t just be another talking shop. While it will facilitate conversations among practitioners focussed on equity and equality and our advocates, the intention is to plan how we can take action to create an equal future for all of us.
If you’re likely to be in or near London on July 14th, we hope you’ll join us.
London, Here I Come!
Have a great time, Sharon! Congratulations to the graduate!
Congrats to you and your daughter, happy, productive and safe travels!
